Some universities, especially those hosting graduation on athletic fields, are enhancing security by requiring clear bags at their commencement ceremonies. Below are some Universities with a graduation clear bag policy for guests and graduates:
- Alabama A&M in Huntsville, AL has a clear bag policy. Guests have three options for bringing bags: a clear tote bag, a one-gallon clear plastic bag or a small clutch handbag.
- Jacksonville State University will implement its clear bag policy for graduation.
- Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL enforces a clear bag policy for graduation commencement events.
- Auburn University has a clear bag policy for graduation events at Neville Arena. Graduates and guests are allowed one clear bag or clear stadium tote bag that does not exceed 12” x 12”. One small clutch purse that does not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" per person is also allowed.
- Tuskegee University allows a clear stadium approved tote bag or clear gallon size plastic storage bag, or smaller, inside.
While some schools require clear bags, others might not have a specific bag rule. However, security measures like metal detectors or general guidelines might still be in place for these ceremonies.
